The usual shape of a visit: we meet you in Guangzhou, and Chenghai is where the toys are made. All 5,233 factories in our register are sourced through the Shantou hub, so the district you would be walking through is the one this entire catalogue comes from.

Feel. Whether a seam will hold, how a gearbox sounds under load, whether a plastic has that slightly greasy cheapness that photographs beautifully. Nobody has yet worked out how to put this in a product card and we are not going to claim we have.

Comparison. This is the one buyers underrate. Our catalogue holds several factories’ versions of nearly every popular toy, at prices that differ two- and threefold. On a shelf, side by side, the reason takes about four seconds to understand. By email it takes four weeks and usually ends in a sample order.

The people. On a production floor you can ask the person running it what the line is good at. In an email you get a specification. AJT Testing Services, founded 2007, is historically linked with the partner group’s founding family and works in the same Chenghai ecosystem — so questions about testing go to people who run tests, not to a sales desk relaying them.

And the scale is the point: 500,000+ samples on display against 385,341 items in this catalogue. The two numbers count different things — a showroom holds variants and colourways that never become separate listings — but the direction is honest. There is more on those shelves than on this website.

Certification is the subject where a visit pays for itself, because it is the subject where written answers are least reliable.

We have counted what is actually on file across this catalogue: 44,336 of 385,341 items carry a factory test document, 8,471 of our 24,034 American reports predate the revision of ASTM F963 that is now mandatory, and only 6,078 items have tracking-label documentation. Those are our own numbers and they are not flattering. They are also exactly the kind of thing worth raising in a room rather than in an email thread.

The four questions we suggest bringing: which standard in full including the revision, what date is on the report, which laboratory issued it, and whether it covers the exact variant you intend to buy. The detail is in toy certificates by market.

OPTTOYSCHINA is a wholesale platform operated by OPTTOYSCHINA LLP, Kazakhstan: catalog, requests and product selection. The seller — invoice, payment, export, documents and claims — is our manufacturing partner Yifeng Group, China. The catalogue holds 385,341 items from 5,233 factories, with the price published per piece and per carton, the carton quantity and the box dimensions stated, and the maker named on every card. The minimum is one factory carton of one model; minimum order total 2,000 CNY (≈ $313).

Our manufacturing partner is Yifeng Group (艺丰集团) in Chenghai, Shantou. The group has worked in Chenghai since 1992; its first plant, Shifeng Culture Development Co., Ltd, dates from that year and runs more than 35,000 m² of production area with an annual output of USD 60 M. AJT Testing Services Limited, founded in 2007, is historically linked with the group’s founding family and works in the same Chenghai ecosystem; the group keeps a permanent 15,000 m² showroom in Shantou with more than 500,000 toy samples. Every batch is checked line by line with photo and video before the cartons are taped, and transit ranges are published for 62 destinations.

Not travel. No visas, no flights, no hotels. We arrange the meeting, the transport between our office and the factories, and the people worth talking to. Anything with a passport in it is yours.

Not a guaranteed factory floor on a given day. Production areas are working floors. The showroom is permanent and can be walked at any time; a specific production line on a specific afternoon depends on what is running, and we will tell you honestly which is which before you book.

And not a substitute for documents. Seeing a toy is not the same as having its test report, and a good impression in a showroom proves nothing about the carton that arrives four weeks later. That is what batch inspection and the paperwork are for, and we would rather you came away with both than with either.
