Wholesale Toy Supplier

What a Wholesale Toy Supplier Actually Does

Seven jobs between your order and your shelf. Here is each one, and its price if you do it yourself.

385,341 items in stock 5,233 factories 1 carton minimum order $0.84/kg freight from

Open prices per unit and per carton. No registration, no sales rep, minimum order total 2,000 CNY (≈ $313), no company required — you can buy as an individual. Both prices — per unit and per carton — are open before you order.

A wholesale toy supplier does seven things: finds the goods, aggregates minimums so you can buy one carton instead of a production run, pays the factories, brings goods from several of them into one shipment, inspects the batch before it travels, arranges freight, and issues the documents. What it cannot do is make a toy cheaper than the factory sells it, invent a certificate the factory never issued, or shorten the production calendar. Our catalogue holds 385,341 items from 5,233 factories with the price published per piece and per carton.

«Supplier» is the vaguest word in this trade. It is used by marketplaces that only introduce you to sellers, by agents who buy on your behalf for a fee, and by companies that actually hold the goods — and the three carry completely different risks.

So instead of claiming to be the good kind, here is the job itself, task by task, with what each task costs when nobody does it for you.

The work

The Job, Task by Task

1. Finding the goods. 385,341 items from 5,233 factories, searchable, with the price and carton size on the card. Alone, this is weeks of correspondence per category.

2. Aggregating minimums. A factory sells a production run. We sell one carton of one model, order total from 2,000 CNY. This single step is why a shop can buy twenty models instead of twenty thousand of one.

3. Paying the factories. One payment from you instead of one per factory, each with its own terms and its own bank.

4. Consolidation. Goods from several factories into one shipment, 3–5 days.

5. Acceptance inspection. The batch checked line by line with photo and video before the cartons are taped. What is wrong goes back while it is still in China.

6. Freight. Mode, lane and the volumetric arithmetic — and toys are volumetric, 2.61 times real weight for beach and pool goods on air.

7. Documents. Commercial invoice and packing list with every consignment, no request needed.

The arithmetic

What Each Job Costs When You Do It

This is the part comparisons usually skip, because it is not a line on an invoice.

Minimums. Twelve factories for twenty models means twelve production runs to meet. That is the single biggest cost of going direct for a shop, and it is paid in stock you did not want.

Freight. Twelve consignments instead of one. Freight and handling are charged per consignment, so this multiplies rather than adds.

Inspection. Either you fly, or you pay an inspector per factory visit, or you find out on arrival. The third option is the expensive one, because a defect discovered at your warehouse is yours.

Time. Twelve relationships, twelve payment cycles, twelve chances for a misunderstanding in a second language. This is the cost people underestimate most.

Who you are dealing with

Marketplace, Agent, Supplier

The marketplace. Introduces you to sellers. Excellent for discovering that a product exists and roughly what it costs. Takes no responsibility for the goods: every listing is a separate company, so ten models can mean ten negotiations and ten parcels.

The agent. Buys on your behalf for a percentage. Useful when you know exactly what you want and need hands in China. Paid whether the goods turn out right or not, which is worth understanding before you rely on one.

The supplier that holds the goods. Buys the goods itself, so a defect is its problem before it is yours. Costs more per piece than an agent’s fee and carries the risk that the agent does not.

All three answer to the word supplier. The question that separates them: when something is wrong, whose goods are they?

Honestly

Three Things No Supplier Can Do

Beat the factory on its own price. Anyone promising factory prices plus their own service for free is quoting one of the two wrong.

Produce a certificate that does not exist. 44,336 of our 385,341 items carry test documents from the factory. On the rest the field is empty, and it stays empty.

Shorten the calendar. Production is 15–30 days, up to 45 in peak. Chinese New Year on 6 February 2027 disrupts output for about six weeks and Golden Week closes factories 1–7 October. No freight mode recovers goods that do not exist yet.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a wholesale toy supplier actually do?
Seven jobs. Finds the goods. Aggregates minimums, so the minimum becomes one carton per model, order total from 2,000 CNY instead of a production run per factory. Pays the factories. Consolidates goods from several factories into one shipment. Inspects the batch before it travels. Arranges freight on your chosen lane. Issues the commercial invoice and packing list. Remove the supplier and all seven land on you, once per factory.
What is the difference between a supplier, an agent and a marketplace?
A marketplace introduces you to sellers and takes no responsibility for the goods — each listing is a separate company and each order is a separate relationship. An agent buys on your behalf for a percentage and is paid whether the goods are right or not. A supplier buys the goods itself, which means the goods are its problem before they are yours. All three will answer to the word supplier, so the useful question is who owns the goods when something is wrong.
Does using a supplier make the goods more expensive?
Per piece, yes — somebody has to be paid for the seven jobs. In landed cost, usually not, because doing them yourself means one minimum, one payment and one freight bill per factory instead of one order. We will not claim to beat a factory on its own price list; what we change is the arithmetic of the whole order.
What can a supplier not do for me?
Three things, and any supplier who says otherwise is selling you something. It cannot make a toy cheaper than the factory sells it. It cannot produce a certificate the factory never issued — across our catalogue 44,336 items of 385,341 carry test documents and the rest show an empty field. And it cannot shorten production: 15–30 days, up to 45 in peak, and Chinese New Year on 6 February 2027 stops the lines regardless of who asks.
How do I check a supplier before ordering?
Four things that can be checked in public, before any contact. Is the price published per piece and per carton, or only on request. Is the factory named on the product card. Is the certificate field left empty when nothing was supplied. Is the carton quantity stated. Those four cost nothing to verify and they are the ones that change after the money moves.
What is your minimum order?
One factory carton of one model; minimum order total 2,000 CNY (≈ $313). The median carton in our catalogue is 84 pieces; common sizes are 24, 36, 48, 72, 96 and 120. Twenty models at one carton each is a valid order.
How long does delivery take?
Production 15–30 days, up to 45 in peak season, then 3–5 days for consolidation and acceptance inspection in China. Freight after that: air 1–15 days, rail 12–25 where a rail link exists, sea 2–45. Ranges for the 62 destinations are published.
