More details: Catalogue items — how an order is built

Choose children’s toys for a shop, a warehouse or an online store from the catalogue of Chenghai (Shantou) and Yiwu factories. Each product card shows the price per piece and per carton, the pieces per carton and the manufacturer. Build an order from different items from 2,000 CNY in total; each item in full factory cartons. For a large quantity of one model, send the item number and the order quantity — the seller’s team in China confirms the production run, lead time and price.

The 2,000 CNY minimum applies to the value of the goods. Delivery, customs clearance, taxes and the documents required are calculated separately. The quotation shows what the costs consist of and the total for the agreed scope of supply, line by line, so you can see the landed cost per piece before you commit.

More details: What to send for a quote: a photo, a link or a description, the quantity, the changes and the delivery city

A full technical brief is not needed for the first request.

For a first quote send: a link to the catalogue item, a photo, a sketch or a description; the order quantity; the changes you need; the delivery city. Mould data and project files — if you have them.

Indicative quantities start from 1,000 units per model. The minimum order for your product is confirmed after the factory reviews the specifications.

Sample. A paid sample is made within 7 days when the required mould is ready. For a new product or a modified mould, the sample timing is set after the technical review. The production run starts after you approve the sample. Sample production and shipping are quoted separately. Whether a sample qualifies for a customs-duty exemption in Bahrain is checked against the applicable customs requirements before dispatch; it is not automatic. Any applicable clearance charges are confirmed separately.

Timing. Production of a confirmed run — 5–25 days depending on the order quantity. Development of a new model, changes to a model and mould making come before the run and are scheduled after the review.

Documents for a private-label run. A toy produced under your brand is a new product for conformity purposes: the applicable tests, the Gulf conformity marking and any testing your clearance needs are planned together with the run and quoted before the order is confirmed.

Delivery and documents

22–32 days
Sea transit to Bahrain
Air — indicatively 6–9 days according to the logistics partner; where this period starts and ends and which stages it covers are confirmed in the quotation.
Delivery inside Bahrain — container cargo arrives at Khalifa Bin Salman Port, air cargo at Bahrain International Airport; the leg to your address is agreed in the quotation.
Before dispatch — production, inspection and consolidation at the warehouse named in your quotation.
5% + 10%
Customs duty and value added tax
Duty 5% — the Integrated Customs Tariff table in force in Bahrain shows 5% on every toy line of heading 9503 — tricycles, pedal cars, dolls, balloons, radio-controlled model aircraft, puzzles, scale models and other toys — and the same 5% on the children’s bicycle lines of heading 8712. The value it is charged on includes the freight and the insurance.
Value added tax 10% — Bahrain charges value added tax on imports at the standard rate of 10%. The value taxed is the customs value with the customs duty added to it, and the importer of record pays it to customs before the goods are released.
Scope — ordinary import for the Bahraini market. Goods held in the customs-bonded Bahrain Logistics Zone sit outside duty and import tax until they are released for the local market.
Type certificate
Conformity documents for Bahrain
Two documents per type — children’s toys stand on the list of products regulated by the Testing and Metrology Directorate at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, which asks for a valid Gulf type examination certificate for each imported type together with the importer’s declaration of conformity.
They go in with the customs package — alongside the customs declaration form, the shipment invoices and the packing list. Bahrain’s own ministerial order on children’s toys sets out the forms, and the importer’s declaration has to identify the items it covers and no others.
Checked per order — the documents required for the selected products are checked before dispatch. Customs may request a conformity certificate from the country of origin or a report from an approved laboratory and take samples.

Sea22–32 days — indicative transit between ports, according to the logistics partner YT. Ports of loading: Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenzhen (Yantian), Guangzhou (Nansha) or Qingdao — chosen for your shipment.
AirIndicatively 6–9 days according to the logistics partner; where this period starts and ends, which stages it covers and the overall schedule are confirmed in the quotation. Toys with lithium cells may be subject to air freight restrictions; the quotation says so for each such item.
ArrivalKhalifa Bin Salman Port at Hidd is the country’s container port: it opened in 2009, has an 1,800-metre quay and is run by a private operator under a concession supervised by Ports and Maritime Affairs. Air cargo arrives through the cargo terminal at Bahrain International Airport, 13 kilometres from the port. The point of entry for your shipment is named in the quotation.
Before dispatchProduction of the run (5–25 days depending on the order quantity), inspection and consolidation. The place of inspection and consolidation depends on the factories in your order and is confirmed in the quotation.
Inside BahrainCustoms clearance and delivery from the point of entry to your city are agreed in the quotation. The estimated delivery schedule is confirmed there; a fixed date is not guaranteed.
Seasonal peaksFactories close for about two to four weeks around Chinese New Year, and Golden Week (1–7 October) adds time to production and sailings. In Bahrain the fixed dates are New Year on 1 January, Labour Day on 1 May and National Day on 16 and 17 December; the Islamic holidays move with the lunar calendar and are announced for each year, and the weekend is Friday and Saturday. Place orders for those peaks early.
CostQuoted for your order: goods, freight, customs clearance, conformity documents and delivery are listed separately.
More details: Duty, VAT and conformity — rules and sources

Scope of this section: ordinary import of children’s toys for the domestic Bahraini market. Bahrain also has a working customs-bonded area, the Bahrain Logistics Zone next to the container port, regulated by Ports and Maritime Affairs with customs present around the clock; it is meant for storage and distribution for re-export and for value-adding work such as packing, labelling and testing. Goods taken out of a bonded area into the local market pay the tariff in force at that moment, so the zone defers duty and import tax rather than removing them. Temporary admission and re-export follow their own procedures and are quoted separately.

Customs duty. The Gulf customs union applies a common external tariff of 5% of the value of the goods on imports from outside the union. In Bahrain that tariff table was issued by Decision No. 29 of 2025 of the Minister of Interior and published in the supplement to Official Gazette issue 3800 of 13 March 2025, and in it every line of heading 9503 carries 5%: children’s tricycles, children’s pedal cars, dolls, balloons, radio-controlled model aircraft for amusement, puzzles of all kinds, scale models and other toys. Children’s two-wheeled bicycles are not toys for tariff purposes — they sit in heading 8712, where the lines for children’s sizes also carry 5%, and their code is checked separately. Nothing in the toy chapter of that table is zero-rated. Every line of your order is classified at its full code and its rate is shown line by line in the quotation. Under the Gulf customs law the rate that applies is the one in force on the day the customs declaration is registered, and Bahrain Customs publishes a tariff finder where a code, its duty rate and the regulatory authority for it can be checked.

What the duty is charged on. The customs value is worked out under the Gulf customs law on the cost, insurance and freight basis — the loading, unloading, handling and insurance costs of bringing the goods to the port of importation sit inside the value, and costs after arrival do not. Example for illustration only: goods $10,000 plus freight and insurance $2,000 — customs value $12,000, duty 5% = $600. The $600 is the duty in this simplified example; it does not include the import tax below, other fees or services that may apply, and it is not the full cost of clearance.

Value added tax at 10%. Bahrain introduced value added tax on 1 January 2019 at 5%, and the standard rate became 10% with effect from 1 January 2022. Imports cleared through customs are generally taxed at that 10%, and the value taxed is the customs value with the customs duty added to it — so the tax sits on top of the duty, not beside it. Continuing the example above: customs value $12,000 plus duty $600 gives $12,600, and 10% of that is $1,260. The person liable is the importer of record for customs purposes, and customs collects the tax before the goods are released, by the same procedure as the duty. An importer registered for the tax may ask the National Bureau for Revenue for authorisation to defer the payment to its next return, and then quotes its tax account number to customs for release; a registered business can normally recover the import tax as input tax in its return. Registration is mandatory above 37,500 Bahraini dinars of annual supplies. Toys are not in the zero-rated or exempt lists. This is the position as at 22 October 2026, checked against the current version of the Bureau’s general guide.

Gulf requirements. Bahrain is a member of the Gulf standardization organization and is one of the member states where the Gulf Technical Regulation on Children’s Toys BD-131704-01 applies, to toys designed or intended for use in play by children under 14. Toys made available on the market must bear the Gulf conformity mark, and the importer draws up a written declaration of conformity. The tracking symbol carries the notified body code and a QR code: scanning it opens the toy’s certificate in the Gulf tracking system, so a buyer or an inspector can check the document without asking anyone. The harmonised standards behind the tests are the GSO EN 71 set — mechanical and physical properties, flammability and migration of certain elements.

A notified body is part of the route for toys. Toys are not a group a supplier can simply self-declare. In the manufacturer route the manufacturer sends the technical documentation to a GSO notified body of its choice, applies for Gulf type examination, and the notified body issues a Gulf Conformity Certificate and approves the products under the tracking-symbol rules; the manufacturer then affixes the symbol and issues the declaration of conformity. There is also an importer route, used for homogeneous consignments, in which the importer applies to a notified body that samples and tests the consignment itself. Accredited test reports count as evidence when they clearly relate to the product, carry the endorsement of an accreditation body in the ILAC arrangement and are not older than three years. The standards applied are the GSO EN 71 set, with IEC or EN 62115 for electric toys and ISO 8124 or ASTM F963 where additional tests may be required.

One certificate can cover a group — check that yours is inside it. A certificate may be issued for a group of toys with the same tariff code, a similar age range, the same manufacturer, the same country of origin and a similar function and material. That is exactly why a document shown for one item does not automatically cover the next one. Check that each document explicitly covers the selected model and manufacturer; do not assume it covers other catalogue items.

Bahrain’s own route for toys. The Testing and Metrology Directorate at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce publishes the list of products it regulates, and children’s toys stand on it at item 11. For them the list asks for two documents: a valid Gulf type examination certificate for each imported type, and the importer’s declaration of conformity. They are submitted with the general requirements that apply to every regulated product — the customs declaration form, the invoices for the shipment and the packing list where there is one. The forms come from Bahrain’s own Ministerial Order No. 1 of 2015 on children’s toys technical requirements, in force since 13 August 2015 and notified to the World Trade Organization: the importer’s certificate of conformity names the importer declaring compliance, identifies in detail all the items it covers and no others, references the Gulf product safety regulations and the standards the conformity is declared against, names the conformity assessment procedure the certificate rests on, and is issued under the importer’s sole responsibility. The manufacturer’s declaration adds the notified body’s name and number and a colour image of the toy clear enough to identify it. There is no single national registration platform for products and no blanket pre-shipment inspection of every consignment: this is a documentary and physical check at import. Which document each item in your order needs is checked before dispatch and stated in the quotation. We do not promise a particular certificate before that check.

Arabic on the product. Under the Gulf toy regulation the safety information and the instructions that come with a toy have to be in Arabic, and that duty falls on the manufacturer, the importer and the distributor alike. The mandatory warnings go with it: a toy not intended for children under 36 months but which could be dangerous for them carries the age warning with the word Warning and a brief statement of the specific hazard, and there are separate warnings for latex balloons, small balls, long cords and electrical toys. Bahrain’s consumer protection law requires the supplier to comply with the technical requirements for the product and to guarantee its safety and suitability for use, and it penalises altering a commodity’s labelling details. Customs may also ask for an Arabic translation of a foreign invoice or document.

What the seller does. For each selected item, the quotation confirms the available conformity documents and the Arabic labelling. Any additional testing, marking or registration, their cost and lead times are agreed before the order is confirmed. Where testing is needed, it can be arranged close to the factory; the notified body decides the required tests.

Documents that travel with the goods. You receive a commercial invoice for the amount you actually paid, a packing list with weights and carton dimensions, the bill of lading or the air waybill, and the conformity documents for each model. Bahrain requires proof of origin under the rules of origin of the agreements in force, so the certificate of origin travels with every shipment. We do not issue an invoice for a value other than the amount paid: an understated invoice is a risk carried by the importer, because the authority can revalue the shipment and act against the company that declared it.

What the importer does. Your company in Bahrain is the importer and places the goods on the market. It needs a commercial registration whose activity covers the import, and an account in the customs single window Ofoq, which brings the regulatory bodies together in one trade window; customs asks for evidence of the importer’s activity. The declaration is completed electronically by the importer, its representative or a licensed customs broker; the invoices and the original bill of lading are attached to the unified customs declaration, and the approvals of the competent authorities are added for regulated goods. Customs documents must be originals, though a copy of an invoice may be accepted against an undertaking to produce the original within 90 days or against a guarantee. Proof of origin is required under the rules of origin of the agreements in force. Goods are inspected on risk criteria, then the exit order is issued and the goods are released, and the importer keeps the records for five calendar years. Unless your quotation says otherwise, the duty, the import tax, any certification fees and any port storage are on the importer’s account, and the delivery term is named in the quotation and in the contract.

Radio-controlled toys and toys with batteries. A toy with a radio transmitter — a remote control, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi — may need a separate telecom approval in addition to the toy rules, and toys with lithium cells may meet battery requirements and air-freight restrictions. For every such item the quotation states what applies and who arranges it.

Who is who. OPTTOYSCHINA is the online storefront of Yifeng Group (艺丰集团) and Chinese toy factories. The seller’s team in China confirms product specifications, prepares the quotation and agrees the supply terms with you; the contract and the invoice carry its full legal details. The logistics partner YT carries out the agreed shipment from Guangzhou. Claims and refunds are handled by the seller.

Payment in two stages. A 30–50% advance after the order is confirmed; the balance before dispatch from the warehouse named in your quotation, which for most orders is the Guangzhou warehouse, once you have received the photo and video report on your cargo. Payment is made in USD directly to the seller, Yifeng Group, in China. For visitors in Bahrain the site shows prices in Bahraini dinars, and the display can be switched to yuan, dollars or euros; payment to the seller is in US dollars. The seller’s full details are given in the invoice and the contract, together with the governing law and the procedure for disputes; the contract is provided before you pay the advance.

Inspection before dispatch. Each order is inspected before it is shipped: quantity, item numbers, packaging, appearance and random functional checks; you get the photos and video before dispatch. The balance is paid only after you confirm the report. If the report shows a discrepancy for an item and you do not accept it, the item is replaced or the advance for that item is refunded. The place of inspection and consolidation depends on the factories in your order and is confirmed in the quotation.

Claims after receipt. Photograph or film the goods and the packaging and send the claim through the contacts on this page within 2 days of receipt. The seller replies within 3 business days. The acceptable defect rate is 2% of the batch — counted against the whole batch, not against each item number separately — and defects above it are compensated as agreed by both parties: replacement, refund or a discount on the next order. Refunds are paid within 14 days of the claim decision. Replacement shipping is at the seller’s expense. The three business days are working days in China, where the seller’s office is closed for Chinese New Year and for 1–7 October. Safety of the goods is a separate matter: it is covered by the conformity documents, not by this tolerance.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order wholesale toys from China with delivery to Bahrain?

Yes. Mix catalogue items from different factories in one order from 2,000 CNY, each item in full factory cartons. Sea transit 22–32 days between ports, air freight indicatively 6–9 days; clearance and delivery to your city are agreed in the quotation.

What is the minimum order?

2,000 CNY in total per order. Each item is ordered in full factory cartons; the pieces per carton are shown on the product card. There is no need to order a full container.

Who is the seller, and what does OPTTOYSCHINA do?

The seller on the contract and the invoice is Yifeng Group (艺丰集团) in China. OPTTOYSCHINA is the online storefront of Yifeng Group and Chinese toy factories; the seller’s team in China confirms specifications, prepares the quotation and agrees the supply terms with you. Each product card shows the manufacturer of that item.

How long does delivery take?

Production of the run comes first — 5–25 days depending on the order quantity. Then sea transit of 22–32 days between ports, or air freight of indicatively 6–9 days according to the logistics partner. Customs clearance and delivery inside Bahrain are agreed in the quotation.

What are the customs duty and taxes on toys in Bahrain?

The duty is 5% of the value of the goods — the common external rate of the Gulf customs union — and that value includes the freight and the insurance. Every toy line of heading 9503 carries that 5% in the tariff table in force in Bahrain, and children’s two-wheeled bicycles sit in heading 8712, where the children’s sizes also carry 5% and the code is checked separately. On top of the duty comes value added tax at 10%, the standard rate since 1 January 2022: it applies to imports cleared through customs, and the value taxed is the customs value with the duty added to it. So on a customs value of $12,000 the duty is $600 and the tax is $1,260. The importer of record pays both to customs before the goods are released, and an importer registered for the tax can normally recover it as input tax in its return. This is ordinary import for the domestic market; goods held in the customs-bonded Bahrain Logistics Zone are outside both until they are released for that market.

Which conformity documents do toys need?

Toys for children under 14 fall under the Gulf regulation BD-131704-01, which applies in Bahrain: a certificate from a GSO notified body, the Gulf conformity mark with the tracking symbol whose QR code opens the certificate in the Gulf tracking system, a written declaration of conformity from the importer, and the safety information and instructions in Arabic. Bahrain then adds its own route: children’s toys stand at item 11 on the list of products regulated by the Testing and Metrology Directorate at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, which asks for a valid Gulf type examination certificate for each imported type together with the importer’s declaration of conformity, submitted with the customs declaration form, the shipment invoices and the packing list. The forms come from Bahrain’s Ministerial Order No. 1 of 2015 on children’s toys technical requirements: the importer’s declaration identifies all the items it covers and no others and names the conformity assessment procedure the certificate rests on, while the manufacturer’s declaration carries the notified body’s name and number and a colour image of the toy clear enough to identify it. A supplier’s own declaration alone is not enough for toys. The documents required for the selected products are checked before dispatch; customs may request a conformity certificate from the country of origin or a report from an approved laboratory and take samples.

What does customs ask for when the goods arrive?

Your company needs a commercial registration whose activity covers the import, and an account in Ofoq, the customs single window that brings the regulatory bodies together in one trade window. The declaration is completed electronically by the importer, its representative or a licensed customs broker, with the invoices and the original bill of lading attached to the unified customs declaration and the approvals of the competent authorities added for regulated goods. Customs documents have to be originals, though a copy of an invoice may be accepted against an undertaking to produce the original within 90 days or against a guarantee, and customs may ask for an Arabic translation of a foreign document. Proof of origin is required under the rules of origin in force. The goods are inspected on risk criteria, then the exit order is issued and the goods are released, and the importer keeps the records for five calendar years. We provide the shipping documents and the conformity documents for each model.

Which currency do I pay in?

In USD, directly to the seller, Yifeng Group, in China. For visitors in Bahrain the site shows prices in Bahraini dinars, and the display can be switched to yuan, dollars or euros; payment to the seller is in US dollars. The seller’s full details are given in the invoice and the contract.

Do I have to pay everything upfront?

No. A 30–50% advance after the order is confirmed; the exact advance is fixed in the quotation. The balance is paid before dispatch, after you receive the photo and video report.

What if the goods arrive with a defect?

Send the claim through the contacts on this page within 2 days of receipt, with photos or video; the seller replies within 3 business days. The acceptable defect rate is 2% of the batch; defects above it are compensated as agreed: replacement, refund or a discount on the next order. Refunds are paid within 14 days of the decision; replacement shipping is at the seller’s expense.

Can you make toys under my brand?

Yes: your logo and Arabic packaging on a catalogue model, a modified model, a new product from your design or sample, or production with your own mould after a technical check. Indicative quantities start from 1,000 units per model; the minimum for your product is confirmed after the factory reviews the specifications. Testing and marking for the new product are planned together with the run.

How does this compare with Alibaba, 1688 or a local wholesaler?

These are different buying scenarios. A local wholesaler may suit an urgent purchase when the goods you need are in stock there, already imported and certified. For planned sourcing from China, OPTTOYSCHINA offers a mixed catalogue order from several factories from 2,000 CNY under one contract, inspection with photos and video before dispatch, and options for custom manufacturing under your own brand. Compare quotations for the same specifications, quantities, documentation and delivery scope.
